The e-commerce sector growth is accelerating : online retail sales are increasing year after year and more and more stores are selling their products digitally. The pandemic of store closures and contact restrictions has further fueled this trend. All this with a direct impact on global logistics : the increasing volume of packages to handle.

Since 2019, single-use plastic bags have been banned in Belgium because they are harmful to the environment. But it doesn’t stop there. In September 2021, a new royal decree was approved : a complete ban on plastic shopping bags between 20 and 60mµ (with some exceptions). These plastic bags will also no longer be allowed to be offered for a small fee.

Medical packaging has several important functions, but its primary role is to protect your medical or pharmaceutical product. Because medical products can have unique specifications and often require sterilization before packaging, medical packaging is designed to both meet the highest medical standards and ergonomically protect the integrity of a product.

According to the Interregional Packaging Commission (IVC), each of us produces about one kg of household waste every day. On top of that, every year we add another 3,500 kg of industrial waste per person, which comes from the production of our consumer goods. This is also called the 'hidden waste'.

According to the US National Library of Medicine, nearly 25% of all medication errors are related to misunderstanding the drug's name, and more than 33% of errors are attributed to packaging and labeling confusion. Given that many drugs have similar names due to their composition and constituents.

Recyclable materials are all materials that can be reused if they have been sufficiently sorted. Think of certain types of paper, plastic and cardboard. The production of recycled materials requires less energy, carbon and raw materials, which has a positive impact on the environment. By recycling the end product, less waste ends up in landfills and this in turn means less damage to the environment!
