Scratch-proof labels for Surgi-Tec that last
Surgi-Tec is a Belgian company known for its high-quality medical implants and innovative solutions to complex surgical challenges. But even the best producers demand packaging and labelling that meets the highest standards. In this interview, Sean from Surgi-Tec tells how they faced a challenge with scratch- and smudge-resistant labels and how Marisan helped them find the perfect solution. The result? A collaboration based on quality, service and mutual trust!
- Surgi-Tec, who are you and what is your objective?
We are a Belgian company specialised in medical implants for cranio-maxillofacial surgery. These include transpalatal distractors, orthodontic bone anchors and osteosynthetic locking plates. Our niche products support oral surgeons and orthodontists in complex jaw corrections, such as for obstructive sleep apnoea, crooked jaws or schisis. Everything is produced in our own unit in Ghent, with a strong quality management system. Our small, close-knit team combines experience and innovation for the best patient solutions!
- Where were your labelling challenges? And how did you end up at Marisan?
Our project to deliver completely sterile products to our customers is now in its final phase. We developed new packaging for this project. Initially, we opted for standard labels, but it soon became clear that these were not sufficiently scratch- and smudge-proof. As a result, the printed text faded, making the labels unreadable and unusable for us. We then approached several companies to find a suitable solution. During this search, we happened to receive a mailing from Marisan. After making contact, it soon became clear that they could offer the best solution. Other suppliers dropped out because of their high prices, lack of professionalism or labels and printing ribbons that simply did not meet our quality requirements.
- How did Marisan solve your problem?
Sven from Marisan visited Surgi-Tec several times. He listened to our wishes and carried out several tests with various printing ribbons and labels. This is how we finally arrived at the ideal quality, which is also affordable. Win-win!
4. How did you experience the cooperation with Marisan?
We are very satisfied with the cooperation. Whether it was a technical question or a logistical request, we always got a quick and clear answer. Not counting the two weeks of Christmas leave, we found an affordable solution within a very short period of time.
5. What does the future hold for Surgi-Tec and Marisan?
The fine cooperation and good results mean that we are happy to continue working with Marisan in the future. Their service and quality are a real added value!
Thank you, Sean!
