Leiepoort Deinze opts for sustainable non-woven carrier bags by Marisan
Scholengroep Leiepoort Deinze attaches great importance to sustainability, equality and small-scale teaching. Before the start of this school year, they were looking for a practical and environmentally friendly solution to distribute school books. The choice fell on non-woven carrier bags from Marisan; sturdy, reusable and printed with their own design. Pieter, responsible for central purchasing, explains how the collaboration came about and how the project went.
Pieter, could you tell us a bit more about Scholengroep Leiepoort? “
Leiepoort Deinze is a school group with three campuses: Sint-Hendrik, Sint-Theresia and Sint-Vincentius. These schools work closely together and offer a powerful learning environment in which every student can develop his or her talents to the fullest.
Leiepoort's core mission is learning to study and learning to appreciate: guiding young people in their growth into responsible, respectful and appreciative people. We offer a wide range of courses tailored to each student, with attention to equal opportunities and smooth transitions between study programmes.
The school group stands for small-scale, security and cooperation. We want to be a guide and compass for young people, so that they learn to get the best out of themselves and contribute together to a better world.”
How did you come into contact with Marisan?
“Via the clothing company Elanco, a long-standing partner of our fashion department, we received the tip to work with Marisan. Together they have extensive experience in the field of sustainable packaging material.”
What was the reason for choosing non-woven carrier bags? Did factors such as reusability, price-quality ratio or the possibility of a clear print play a role in this?
“We deliberately chose non-woven carrier bags because they perfectly match the sustainable vision of our school group. They are reusable, sturdy and therefore an environmentally friendly alternative to disposable packaging; values that we as a school consider very important. Moreover, they offer an excellent price-quality ratio and allow us to present our school in a clear and professional way, thanks to the beautiful print.”
For what occasion exactly will the carrier bags be used?
“The carrier bags will be used at the start of the school year, specifically for collecting school books. In this way, we provide a practical, sturdy and sustainable solution with which students can easily and environmentally friendly take their materials with them.”
How do you experience the collaboration with Marisan? Are you satisfied with the products and the service provided?
“This was our first order with Marisan, and we look back on the collaboration with satisfaction. The communication was smooth and professional. We were given the opportunity to use our own design, which we really appreciated. That personal and customer-oriented approach made the process pleasant and efficient.”
